Červená Barva means “red color” in Czech and the Press was founded in April, 2005. The press publishes poetry, fiction, and work in translation from writers all over the world. We have published over 240 chapbooks and books. Many of our authors have won prestigious awards. Červená Barva Press is one of the most active presses in the country. We offer: writing workshops, a reading series, Portrait of an Artist & Poet Series, Pastry with Poets (A teaching workshop), Poetry Roundtable, Translation Roundtable, and Read America Read.
Read America Read is an organization founded in October, 2015. Books are left all over the country on park benches, bus and train stations, cafes etc… for the public to take for free. Participants are writers, publishers, and the general public. So far approximately 3,000 books have been left all over the US. Červená Barva Press believes in community and giving back.
Červená Barva Press solicits for full-length books only. There is an open reading period for chapbooks January 2nd-February 10th. We are accepting submissions for chapbooks in January 2024. Guidelines will be available at that time.

Gloria Mindock - Founder, Editor & Publisher

ČERVENÁ BARVA PRESS was founded in April of 2005. The press solicits poetry, fiction, and translations from various writers around the world, and holds open contests regularly for its chapbooks, postcards, broadsides and full-length books. I look for work that has a strong voice, is unique, and that takes risks with language. Please see submission guidelines for current information.
